The Everest Alliance Nepal was established with the intention of promoting sustainable development, advocating for conservation and eco-friendly tourism practices while uplifting mountain communities to take ownership of the natural environment surrounding them.
Under our slogan ‘Everest, stands tall and so must our commitment to sustain, protect and succeed together,” Everest Alliance Nepal stands as an advocate for unity, working together with adventure enthusiasts, environmentalists, and local stakeholders to ensure that Nepal emerges as a leader in conservation, sustainability and eco-friendly tourism practices.
With over 15 years of experience in Nepal’s tourism sector, I have had the privilege of witnessing the boundless energy of trekkers, the unspoken strength of guides and porters, and the deep admiration that people around the world hold for the Himalayas and by the degradation that follows. These encounters led me to a profound realization: that I, too, share the responsibility to honor, preserve, and promote the pristine nature Nepal holds not only for ourselves but also for my children and the entire future generations.
Another project of Everest Alliance Nepal is to work closely with the government of Nepal and assist them in addressing climate and conservation related issues to further increase the percentage of protected areas and forest covered areas in the country sustainably while making sure the voices of the local communities are heard and their issues addressed.
Nepal has provided boundless opportunities for myself and millions others who live here every day, in every shift and every challenge. The country is witnessing a positive shift towards a prosperous present and future. Still, challenges remain in sustaining our tourism products and offerings for the long run. In recent years, we have witnessed the challenges posed by climate change, overcrowding, and environmental degradation on Himalayan regions.
